Funding Schools in East Africa
Shelmina and her husband funded Amahoro secondary school in Mgraraganza village of Tanzania in 2012. Today 500+ children from 7 remote villages attend the school. Shelmina provides scholarships to young women from Amahoro to attend college upon graduation. They also funded an early childhood education center in Kanungu, Uganda.

Book Donations to the Last Mile Fund
Shelmina donated copies of her bestselling book, Show Your Worth, to the Last Mile Education Fund.
Her hope: that it becomes a blueprint for first-generation graduates—especially women in STEM—to soar in their careers, overcome internal and external barriers, and lead with purpose. The ripple effects are already real.
